Trader Joe's 2011 Vintage Dark Ale

Trader Joe's 2011 Vintage Dark Ale - 9.0% abv. Shocking. Not shocking like you wake up and find yourself in a horror scene from Saw V, shocking as in you guiltily purchase a White Castle burger on a craving whim and find yourself presented with a bacon-wrapped med. rare filet mignon served by a boobiferous smiling Victoria Secret model. For $4.99 at 750mL, would you expect a carefully crafted Belgium style dark ale by Unibroue? Either would I. This is no three buck Chuck. OK, It's a little rough around the edges and spicy compared to an artisan Belgium, but still a tremendous value for the flavor. I'm off to purchase a case.

Unibroue - La Fin Du Monde

La Fin Du Monde (The End of The World) Triple fermentation Golden Ale brewed by Unibroue, Quebec, CA. Liquid gold! Complex, slightly malty, wonderfully aromatic, with subtle floral notes on the aftertaste. You can age this Belgium style Triple for up to 3 years, but it is just as good from the start. Serve chilled but not cold.
