Allagash Curieux

Allagash Curieux - 11% abv. This is simply the best bourbon ale I have ever tasted. Allagash ages their Tripel (which I also adore) for 8 weeks in Jim Beam Bourbon barrels. Although it's a bourbon strong ale, there is nothing overpowering with this beer. It's gorgeous, smooth, and astoundingly drinkable. Won bronze at the World Beer Cup in '07, but I'm certain gold is in its near future.

Ommegamg Tripel Perfection

Ommegang- Tripel Perfection: 8.9% abv. If ever the Atlantic Ocean suddenly closed up, Cooperstown NY would be merged with Belgium. At least that's how it seems by the successfully brewed Belgium style triple, an Ommegang Specialty Beer Program graduate, the second from the program finally emerging after three years development. I'll admit, they did an excellent job in all respects, but it still falls short of my favorite triple, the Gouden Carolus Tripel.

Triple Horse - River Horse Brewing Co.

Triple Horse - 10% abv. Belgium Style Tripel. This beer goes far beyond supporting your local brewery, located in Lambertville, NJ. This is a real Jersey beer: Bold, obnoxious, and it will get you there quickly. I love it. WARNING: This isn't your grandpa's beer. If you're not used to drinking strong Belgium style brews, be careful.  If you have three of them in one sitting on an empty stomach, it will hurt you (duh). If you don't like it, try something else; perhaps a Coors Light.
